If you are an expat looking for a warm and feels-like-home destination for a few days break, then this is the affordable area and place to stay. The hotel has good deals on the rooms, especially on weekends. It is surrounded by restaurants and bars representing the food and drink of the world that forms the area called Shenzhen Marine World. Places downtown may offer a better location closer to large shopping malls and theme parks, but it is nice to have a place like this to come back to at night and to start your day. If you are coming from the airport it is about a 30 min. cab ride. Buses run to the metro stations, but you can also take a taxi for less than 40rmb. Even though it doesn't seem to be the closest, the easiest metro station for coming and going is at Window of the World. Remember to get a card from the hotel or bring a printout with the Chinese address of the hotel if you are using the taxis. Also, if you have the phone number the driver will usually call for directions when needed. Ferry service provides quick access to Hong Kong downtown and airport via the Shekou Ferry terminal, and it is less than a 10 minute walk away. There is a large Bank of China branch with international ATM's on the corner of the complex if you need cash. There is fast-food in the complex, but most of the restaurants and bars charge international prices.
